Visit the SMA

The Sexual Minorities Archives (SMA) is currently open to visitors by appointment only, six days a week (Monday – Saturday).

To schedule a visit, call us or fill out our visit request form. We’ll contact you directly to coordinate your desired date and arrival time.

When you come to the Archives house, you may browse the shelves; read books, periodicals and subject file materials; tour the rooms, view artworks, watch videos, listen to music, conduct online research, and more.

If you have any questions about your visit or our COVID-19 policies, please feel free to ask.

Inside the SMA

At the SMA, we’re dedicated to cultivating a safe, friendly community space for all who visit. We offer a full kitchen, 3 floors of collections & archives, and plenty of comfy spots to work or enjoy the materials we have to offer. We also utilize a vast basement area for storage of some larger collections of periodicals and approx. 1000 additional cataloged books.
